Casa Botines is one of the few works by Antoni Gaudí outside Catalonia. Built in the late 19th century on Plaza de San Marcelo, it looks like a small neo-Gothic castle with turreted corners. Above the entrance, a sculpture of Saint George and the dragon crowns the façade.

Today it houses a museum and exhibition spaces. Close by are the Palacio de los Guzmanes and, a few minutes’ walk away, the former convent of San Marcos, now a Parador and one of Spain’s finest Plateresque buildings.
